Daily Staff Reports -- sports@nvdaily.com

WESTMINSTER, Md. -- Host McDaniel used a three-goal run late in the first half on its way to an 12-5 non-conference women's lacrosse victory over Shenandoah Tuesday night.

Shenandoah (4-6) scored the opening goal of the contest on an Erin Higgins to Becky Bove tally and led 2-1 following a Samantha Donaghy goal at 12:37, but McDaniel (5-2) scored four of the final five goals of the first to take a lead it would not relinquish.

Donaghy broke up this run with a free position goal at 1:07.

The Green Terror scored the initial two goals of the second, and after Samantha Sisson fed Bove for a goal at 15:08, McDaniel tallied five straight to seal the victory.

Junior Liz Bereit closed the book on the night's scoring with a free position goal at 2:14.

Ashley Cross had 12 saves in the losing effort.

McDaniel outshot SU 35-14 and had a 22-13 advantage in groundballs while the Hornets won 11 of 19 draws.

SU is back in action on Saturday in a 1:00 ODAC contest against Hollins.
