Prep roundup: Wildcats cruise past Panthers in softball

WASHINGTON, Va. — Warren County’s softball team cruised to a 19-0 win over host Rappahannock County on Monday evening. The game was called in five innings due to the mercy rule.

The Wildcats had 14 hits, nine walks and six hit batters in the victory, and nine different batters had at least one hit for Warren County (5-2).

Senior Cassie Green and junior Paige McLachlan had two hits apiece, including a double each, and senior Brooke Post had two hits and three RBIs.

McLachlan pitched the first three innings for Warren County and picked up her fifth win of the season.
