SU roundup: Mohlmann off to solid start at Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA — Shenandoah University junior Jaclyn Mohlmann began her participation at the 120th running of the Penn Relays Tuesday with a strong performance in the open class of the heptathlon.

Mohlmann, one of two NCAA Division III competitors in the event, recorded 2,583 points on day one of the two-day, seven-event competition.

She is currently 26 points ahead of school record past after tying the school record in the high jump with a leap of 1.55 meters and posting a season-best 9.00 meter shot put.

Her top event was the 100 meter hurdles in which she earned 765 points after running a 15.59.

She concluded the day with a 27.43 in the 200 meters for 676 points.

On Wednesday, she will compete in the long jump, javelin and 800 meters.

The competition concludes on Wednesday with Mohlmann’s opening event, the long jump, scheduled for an 11:30 start.


The Shenandoah University baseball team has maintained its rankings in a pair of polls released Tuesday morning by the ABCA and D3baseball.com.

The Hornets, 28-7 on the season after claiming the top seed in the upcoming Old Dominion Athletic Conference tournament with a 17-3 league mark, are 14th in the NCBWA/D3baseball.com poll and 18th in the ABCA poll.

SU was 12th last week in the D3baseball poll and 18th in according to the ABCA.

Linfield (Ore.) is No. 1 in both polls with Webster (Mo.) No. 2.

Shenandoah opens the ODAC tournament on Thursday with an 11 a.m. game against sixth-seeded Hampden-Sydney.
