DANVILLE — Host Westover Christian Academy took advantage of five Shenandoah Valley Christian Academy errors to claim a 12-2 victory in Tuesday’s Virginia Association of Christian Athletics state baseball quarterfinals.

The loss ended the season for the Patriots, who finished the year with a 7-10 record.

“We made quite a few errors, and they made us pay,” SVCA coach Bobby Wheelock said. “Most of the runs scored against us were unearned runs.”

Patrick McGrath started and took the loss for the Patriots, allowing eight runs (two earned) in four innings of work.

SVCA managed just two hits against Westover. Taylor Jones was 1-for-2 with a walk, and Cody Robertson went 1-for-3 with an RBI.
