Prep roundup: Flores paces Falcons past Strasburg

WOODSTOCK — Sophomore midfielder Jose Flores tallied a goal and assisted on two more as host Central shut out Strasburg 6-0 in Bull Run District boys soccer action on Friday night.

Flores tallied the game’s first goal just five minutes in off an assist from Benjamin Truban. Flores then assisted on two straight goals by Central’s Taishi Ukai, in the 14th and 22nd minutes.

Truban notched a goal with 17:44 left in the first half off a Tyler Bosserman assist.

Franklin Hernandez knocked in a goal off Truban’s second assist just seven minutes into the second half, and Eri Dominguez completed the scoring with an unassisted goal in the 60th minute.

Central (8-3-2) outshot the Rams, 21-3. Goalkeeper Jose Martinez had one save for the Falcons.

Mate Gergely had eight saves for Strasburg (2-8-3).

Girls soccer

Warren County 5, William Monroe 2

FRONT ROYAL — Kelsea Potts struck for four goals and added an assist as host Warren County topped William Monroe 5-2 in Bull Run District girls soccer action Friday.

Potts scored the game’s first goal off an Abby Wilson assist. Potts then had the assist on Nina Petitt’s goal before getting her second goal on an assist by Nina Richards.

Warren County (9-4) led 3-1 at halftime. Potts added two more goals in the second half on assists from Courtney L’Amoreaux and Richards.

The Wildcats and Green Dragons finished even with seven shots apiece. Warren County goalkeeper Abbey O’Mara finished with five saves.
