STEPHENS CITY — Sherando couldn’t get the key hits when it needed them in a 3-2 loss to Millbrook on Wednesday in Northwestern District baseball action.

The Warriors managed only three hits in the loss. Sherando scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth to cut Millbrook’s lead to 3-2. In the bottom of the seventh the Warriors had two runners on with one out, but a strikeout and a groundout ended the game.

We played better as the game went on,” Sherando coach Pepper Martin said. “We just couldn’t get the key hit to drive runners in.”

Reid Entsminger went 1-for-3 with an RBI, and Adam Whitacre and Connor Stevenson also went 1-for-3 for the Warriors (9-5, 5-4 Northwestern).

Chase Smallwood struck out four in picking up the loss on the mound.
