Prep roundup: Generals blank Hornets in rout

NEW MARKET -- Stonewall Jackson beat visiting Wilson Memorial, 10-0, in Shenandoah District baseball action on Friday evening. The game ended in five innings due to the mercy rule.
Senior pitcher Colton Harlow tossed all five innings for the Generals, as the left-hander allowed just two hits and struck out eight batters to improve to 3-2 this season.
Stonewall (5-7, 5-4 Shenandoah) recorded 11 hits in the win. The Generals were led by freshman Cole Holsinger, who went 4-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored. Harlow was 2-for-3 with a double, and junior Kory Somers hit a solo home run in the third inning for Stonewall.
Central 4, Madison County 3
Junior Cody Sager pitched a complete game for the Falcons (6-6, 4-6 Bull Run), as he allowed three runs on seven hits, a walk and a hit batter. He also struck out four.
Senior Hayden Bauserman was 1-for-3 with a double and two RBIs for Central, while senior Sam Cornman was 2-for-3. Senior Jordan Rau also had a double for the Falcons, who scored all of their runs in the fifth inning.
William Monroe 5, Strasburg 1
The Dragons scored three runs in the top of the third and held on for the win. Cortney McDonald was 2-for-3 and Katie Smoot was 1-for-3 with an RBI for the Rams (6-6).
