SWARTHMORE, Pa. - Five members of the Shenandoah University track & field teams completed their seasons Monday afternoon by participating in the Swarthmore Last Chance meet.
In the 200 meter dash, David Johnson was 21st, Kirk Lewis 23rd and Charles Basil 26th with Johnson's 23.68 seconds leading the way.
In the 400, Johnson was 17th at 51.85 and Basil 19th with a 52.24.
In the throwing events, senior Evan Griffin was fourth in the hammer and eighth in the javelin with classmate Kirk Lewis coming in seventh in the javelin.
Griffin had a toss of 49.70 in the hammer.
On the women's side, freshman Danyelle McGrady was 12th in the javelin at 28.89 meters.
BALTIMORE, Md. - Graduating women's lacrosse senior Ashley Cross '14 has been named All-Chesapeake Region in selections announced Monday afternoon by the IWLCA.
Cross, a four-year starter for the Hornets, concluded her career as the program's all-time leader in both saves and victories.
She earned All-league honors in all four years of her career, including first team accolades from the ODAC this season and the USA South in 2012.
In addition to her lacrosse honors, she was named first team All-ODAC and ODAC Player of the Year in field hockey this past fall.
This is the second time that Cross earned All-Region honors in lacrosse. She was previously selected in 2012.
Track and field
DELAWARE, Ohio - Junior Jaclyn Mohlmann had a strong start to her heptathlon Monday at the Ron Althoff Invitational hosted by Ohio Wesleyan.
After four events of the two-day, seven-event competition, Mohlmann finds herself 77 points ahead of school record pace with a 2638 day one total.
Mohlmann began the competition Monday by besting her 100 meter hurdles time from the Penn Relays two weeks ago with a 15.51 before leaping a school record 1.57 meters in the high jump.
That added 701 points to the 775 she earned from the hurdles.
An 8.84 meter toss of the shot put gave her an additional 454 points before she rounded out the day with a 27.08 second 200 meter dash that was good for another 708 points.
The event concludes tomorrow with the long jump, the javelin and the 800 meters. Mohlmann is currently in fourth place in the eight-woman competition.
