SU roundup: Paul garners baseball All-American honors

APPLETON, Wis. — Shenandoah University junior Michael Paul has been named second team All-America by in selections announced Thursday afternoon by the website.

Paul hit .444 with nine home runs, 21 doubles and 62 RBI this season to help lead Shenandoah to a 33-11 overall record and an appearance in the Demorest Regional of the NCAA Tournament.

Paul, the Hornets starting third baseman, previously was named ODAC Player of the Year, first team All-ODAC, to the ODAC and Demorest Regional All-Tournament teams and first team All-Region.

Track and field

DELAWARE, Ohio — Shenandoah junior Jaclyn Mohlmann opened her 2014 NCAA National Outdoor Track & Field Championships with a day one total of 2,546 in the heptathlon.

Mohlmann posted 762 points in the 100-meter hurdles, 666 in the high jump, 467 in the shot and 651 in the 200-meter dash.

The competition concludes Friday with the long jump, javelin and 800-meter dash.
