2014 Boys Tennis All-Area Team

• Sam Barbour, Central

The junior won the Conference 28 individual singles title, and helped lead the Falcons to a 7-8 record. Barbour also advanced to regional in singles in only his second year playing the sport.

• Matt Blaney, Sherando

The senior led the Warriors to a tie for second in the Northwestern District. Blaney played at the top spot for the Warriors, who lost in the Conference 21 quarterfinals to Heritage.

• Bobby Loveland, Central

The junior teamed with Sam Barbour and lost in a tough three-setter in the Conference 28 semifinals. Loveland helped the Falcons to their first regional berth in quite a few seasons.

• Nik Mikus, Sherando

The junior helped lead the Warriors to an 8-5 record this past season. Mikus, playing at No. 2 singles, helped guide a young Warriors squad to a strong showing in the conference quarters.

• Joey Park, Skyline

Park played at the top spot for the Hawks this season. Skyline struggled this year, but did have it’s best showing against rival Warren County. The Hawks played the Wildcats tough in both meetings.

• Casey Stewart, Warren County

The senior, who transferred from Skyline, came up just short in Conference 28 individual singles semifinals. Stewart played at No. 1 singles for the Wildcats in only his second year playing.
