2014 All-Area Girls Soccer Team

FIRST TEAM

• Tori Dean, Sherando

The junior forward finished the season with nine goals and led the Warriors with seven assists. Dean was a first team all-Northwestern District selection and a first-team all-Conference 21 pick.

• Mandy Fogarty, Sherando

The senior forward finished the season with four goals and six assists, while helping lead the Warriors to a 7-4-3 record. Fogarty was a first team all-Northwestern District and second-team all-Conference 21 pick.

• Amelia Guthrie, Strasburg

The freshman forward was the Rams’ top scoring threat this past season, as she amassed a team-high 11 goals in 17 games played for Strasburg. The Rams finished the season with a record of 3-14.

• Emily Jordan, Stonewall

The junior midfielder/forward led the Generals with a team-high 11 goals this season. Jordan, a first team all-Shenandoah District selection, helped lead Stonewall Jackson to a record of 8-10.

• Courtney L’Amoreaux, Warren County

The sophomore midfielder led the Wildcats with 13 assists and also chipped in three goals this season. L’Amoreaux was a second team all-Bull Run District pick and a second team all-Conference 28 selection.

• Erin Magalis, Sherando

The junior defender finished the season with a team-high 11 goals to go along with two assists. Magalis was a first team all-Northwestern District selection and a second team all-Conference 21 pick.

• Hannah McGann, SVCA

The junior forward finished with 18 goals and had an area-high 15 assists for the Patriots. McGann was named first team all-district, all-North Region and all-state in the VACA and was a NACA All-American.

• Megan Norton, SVCA

The senior midfielder had a team-high 29 goals and 11 assists. Norton was the VACA state player of the year and state tournament MVP. She was also named a NACA All-American and NACA tournament offensive MVP.

• Kayla Phaneuf, SVCA

The junior goalkeeper finished the season with 87 saves and an area-best 14 shutouts. Phaneuf was named a VACA first team all-district selection, a first team all-North Region pick and a first-team all-state selection.

• Kelsea Potts, Warren County

The senior forward led the area with a school-record 39 goals for the Wildcats this season. Potts was a first team all-Bull Run District, first team all-Conference 28 and first team all-Region 3A East selection.

• Anne Skube, Warren County

The senior defender finished the season with five goals and eight assists for the Wildcats. Skube was a first team all-Bull Run District selection and a first team all-Conference 28 pick.

• Dustin Wheelock, SVCA

Coach

Wheelock led the Patriots to a Virginia Association of Christian Athletics state championship and a National Association of Christian Athletics title. SVCA finished the season 19-4-3.
