STAUNTON -- Stonewall Jackson picked up its first Shenandoah District mini-tournament victory of the season on Tuesday at Ironwood golf course.
The Generals combined to shoot 331 for a one-stroke victory over runner-up East Rockingham.
East Rockingham's Jacob Laughlin was the low medalist, firing an even-par 71.
For Stonewall Jackson, Ben Rosenberger led the way with an 80. Other scorers for the Generals were Kory Somers (81), Jonathan Koontz (82) and Tyler Somers (88). Yash DeSai (91) and George Dougharty (104) did not factor in the scoring for Stonewall Jackson.
The district mini victory was the first in three tries for Stonewall Jackson, which finished second twice to East Rockingham earlier this season.
"We play at Luray on Thursday in the last district mini, and we're two strokes behind East Rockingham (for the regular-season title)," Stonewall coach Roger Wilkins said. "So it will be settled there."
