WINCHESTER — The Shenandoah University volleyball team celebrated its annual Dig Pink event Tuesday night with a 3-0 non-league sweep of Hood College.

The Hornets (14-9) needed just 60 minutes to polish off the Blazers (9-18) with wins at 16, 20 and 15.

Shenandoah trailed just twice in the match, early in the second and third sets, but quickly reasserted control in that second set with a 7-0 run that gave the victors a 12-7 lead and forced a Hood timeout.

SU never trailed again by more than one point in the contest.

Coach Jaime Terenzi played 13 women Tuesday evening with 10 of those women registering at least one kill.

Junior Allie Pieper led all players with 10 kills, while Blake Parkes and Rachel Gross added eight each.

Rachel Cerretani and Jasmine Callahan combined for 34 assists, with Cerretani leading all players with 20.

Shenandoah hit .306 to the Blazers .087.

SU returns to ODAC play Friday night at Randolph.
