Prep roundup 1-10: Falcons fall short to Knights

WOODSTOCK — Central saw a six-point halftime lead slip away on Saturday in a 48-47 loss to John Champe in non-district girls basketball action.

The Falcons (10-3) led 23-17 at the half, but the Knights scored 31 points in the second half. Central struggled at the free-throw line (7-for-19) and had 17 turnovers.

Tamra Scott led the way with 16 points and five rebounds to lead the Falcons. Cianne Fields had 16 points and Ayanna Strother had 13 points and three assists for Central.
