Prep roundup: Sibert’s walk-off lifts Falcons over Eagles

Daily Staff Reports

WOODSTOCK – Corey Sibert’s walk-off single lifted Central to a 6-5 baseball win over visiting Clarke County Friday night, snapping the Falcons’ three-game losing streak.

The Falcons (2-3, 1-2 Bull Run) lost a 5-2 lead in the top of the seventh as the Eagles rallied for three runs but Central answered with the winning run in the bottom of the frame.

A walk to Cody Sager, a Cody Polk single and a walk to Brandon Paschall loaded the bases with one out in the bottom of the seventh. With Clarke County’s (1-3, 1-2) outfield drawn in, Sibert (1-for-4, RBI) lifted a deep fly ball that fell safely and scored Sager.
