JMU roundup: Hall named to All-ECAC team

DANBURY, Conn. – James Madison women’s basketball junior guard Precious Hall has been named to the Eastern College Athletic Conference All-Star Second Team, the organization announced Thursday.

The all-star squads and major honors were voted on by head coaches of ECAC Division I women’s basketball programs.

Hall finished her junior campaign averaging 20.8 points per game to lead the Colonial Athletic Association, scoring 3.0 3-point field goals per game, the nation’s seventh-highest average. She was named to the Naismith Trophy Midseason 30 Watch List and the CAA’s unanimous selection for Player of the Year. She picked up All-CAA First Team and CAA All-Tournament Team accolades as well as Richmond Times-Dispatch Player of the Year and All-State honors.

UConn’s Breanna Stewart was named ECAC Player of the Year while UConn’s Kia Nurse was voted ECAC Rookie of the Year. Princeton Head Coach Courtney Banghart was selected as ECAC Coach of the Year.

Hall was joined on the second team by Morgan Tuck (UConn), Lexie Brown (Maryland), Aliyyah Handford (St. John’s), Shereesha Richards (Albany), Daisha Simmons (Seton Hall) and Kelsey Minato (Army).
