Prep roundup: Patriots beat Shalom Christian

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – Shenandoah Valley Christian Academy picked up a 16-8 win over host Shalom Christian Academy on Tuesday afternoon.

The game was originally scheduled to be played in Stephens City but it was moved to Chambersburg, Pennsylvania due to weather.

The Patriots notched 12 hits against six different pitchers and benefited from five Shalom errors. SVCA scored at least one run in all but the first inning.

Cody Robertson was 2-for-4 with a double, two RBIs, two runs scored and two walks for the Patriots. Matt Rogers went 2-for-5 with a two-run double and Nick Bailey was 2-for-4 with two RBIs for SVCA.

Starting pitcher Stephen Goldbranson allowed eight runs for SVCA, although only three were earned as the Patriots committed four errors. Goldbranson had 10 strikeouts.
