Prep roundup: Ansbro, Falcons advance to Conference 28 semis
WOODSTOCK — Bekah Ansbro helped herself at the plate with a two-run homer to lift Central to a 3-0 Conference 28 softball quarterfinal victory over Warren County on Monday.
Ansbro and Anneslee Cockrell were locked in a pitcher’s duel. The game was scoreless through five innings. In the bottom of the sixth, Ansbro hit her fifth homer of the season, part of a three-run Central sixth. The Falcons finished with just three hits. Ansbro went 1 for 2 with a walk.
In the circle, Ansbro threw a two-hitter to lead Central into the Conference semifinals. The Falcons (21-3) will host William Monroe on Wednesday at 7 p.m.

WOODSTOCK — The Falcons got off to a quick start and held on for a Conference 28 quarterfinal victory over the Wildcats.
Jose Flores scored on an assist from Jose Martinez just two minutes into the game. Six minutes in, Willie Armstrong scored on an assist from Franklin Hernandez. In the second half, Ben Truban scored off an Elmer Lopez assist.
The Falcons (9-8-1) outshot the Wildcats, 16-9. Central will play at William Monroe on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
