SU roundup: Mohlmann in 15th after opening day of NCAA’s
CANTON, N.Y. – Shenandoah’s Jaclyn Mohlmann stands 15th after day one of the heptathlon at the 2015 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted by St. Lawrence University.
Mohlmann, a two-time qualifier in the seven-event, two-day competition, opened the day with school record 15.31 seconds in the 100 high hurdles for 801 points.
She added another 724 points thanks to a 1.59 meter high jump that vaulted her into ninth place in the 22-woman competition.
A 9.66 meter shot put followed, good for 507 points and putting her eight points in front of her school record pace.
Mohlmann then completed her day with a 27.55 in the 200 meters for her final 667 points and 2699 total.
She is just seven points out of 14th and 184 from eighth.
Day two opens at noon with the long jump.
