SU roundup: Shenandoah announces date for football kick-off reception
WINCHESTER – Shenandoah University Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Doug Zipp announced Friday that the department will hold its annual football kick-off reception on Aug. 31, at Piccadilly’s Public House in Winchester.
It is open to all Hornet Club members, season ticket holders, 2015 Cash party sponsors/attendees and interested fans. The reception will be held in the second floor banquet room at Piccadilly’s begins at 7:30 p.m.
Following a social hour, head football coach Scott Yoder will speak about the upcoming season and do a brief question-and-answer session.
The head coaches of the Hornets additional fall sports: Andy Marrocco, Liz Pike, Ashley Smeltzer-Kraft, Corbin Sutton and Jaime Terenzi, will also be on hand to meet the crowd.

Sutton announces men’s soccer recruiting class
WINCHESTER – Shenandoah University head men’s soccer coach Corbin Sutton announced his 2015 recruiting class Friday morning.
Sutton, preparing for his fifth season as the fourth head coach in program history, is bringing in 14 new student-athletes into his program.
These 14 combine with 16 returnees to comprise the pre-season roster.
Two of the 14 newcomers are transfers from former USA South Conference foe Ferrum.
Midfielder Sam Natkin, from Stafford, and goalkeeper Keegan Fairchild, a Herndon native, both come to SU as sophomores.
Natkin started 14 of 17 games he played in, registering two assists, while Fairchild drew two starts and made 16 saves in just less than 286 minutes of game action.
Ten of the 14 played prep soccer in Virginia with three hailing from Maryland and one from Pennsylvania.
