Loudan honored by Touchdown Club of Richmond
Taylor Loudan was honored by the Touchdown Club of Richmond on Wednesday night as the Division II/III Offensive End/Wide Reciever of the Year.
The Sherando graduate and current Christopher Newport University wide receiver was honored along with 13 other student-athletes from across the Commonwealth at the Dudley & Lanier Awards Banquet this Wednesday night at the Hilton Richmond Hotel in Richmond.
Loudan, who was named first team all-conference in the New Jersey Athletic Conference this season, caught 67 passes for the Captains. He had seven touchdown receptions. He was the leader in all-purpose yardage for Christopher Newport and averaged 115 yards receiving per game. He led the NJAC in total receptions and became just the fourth CNU receiver in history to go over the 1,000-yard mark in a season. Loudan, who also plays on the CNU baseball squad, also returned 13 punts for 143 yards for the Captains.
The Touchdown Club of Richmond is a sports-social organization, based in Richmond, founded to promote the best interests of the American game of football and sports in general, under the guidance of elected officers with the predominate purpose being to recognize worthy athletes for their accomplishments and to encourage them to continue their education and athletic careers.
The club’s membership compiles a ballot seeking nominations from all 26 football playing colleges and universities in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The ballot is then distributed to the club’s membership for voting to determine the 14 award winners, seven at each level, NCAA Division I and NCAA Division II, III/NAIA/USCAA.
