Martin said heavyweight Ben Avery is out recovering from an asthma attack. James Platts (152) was out-of-town with a family responsibility.
After one day, Handley leads the tournament with 96 points, Patrick Henry is second with 89 scores. Sherando resides in third with 88.5 points. Host James Wood is fifth with 63 points.
