JMU’s Harlow named CAA Pitcher of the Week

James Madison University pitcher and Stonewall Jackson graduate Colton Harlow was named the Colonial Athletic Association Pitcher of the Week on Monday.

Harlow threw eight shutout innings on Friday in a 6-0 win against Hofstra in the final game of the regular season. The game was the second game of a doubleheader. He struck out a career high seven in picking up the win. It was the longest outing of his career.

The JMU sophomore walked only one and did not allow a runner past second base.

For the season, Harlow has pitched 62.2 innings. He’s started 13 games and has a 3-6 record and a 6.03 ERA. He has 52 strikeouts. Harlow’s teammate Bradley McKay was named the CAA Player of the Week.

JMU is 23-29 overall, and was 13-11 in the CAA. The Dukes play in the CAA tournament on Wednesday in Charleston, South Carolina. JMU is the fourth seed and opens up tournament play against fifth-seeded Northeastern at noon.
