Woodstock 5 Miler

Shenandoah Valley Runners will hold the Woodstock 5 Miler on Saturday starting on Kingree Street at the Shenandoah County Government building in Woodstock.

Walkers start at 7:30 a.m. and the run starts at 8 a.m. Entry fees are $19 for SVR members or $20 for nonmembers. Awards given. Information: Larry Bullock, 540-335-2265 or lbullock77@hotmail.com.

Fish for B.A.S.S.

Sky Meadows State Park in Delaplane will host Fish for B.A.S.S. (Brave American Servicemen and Servicewomen) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Turner Pond.

Live music, cookout, prizes and activities for kids. Bring fishing poles and Virginia fishing license. The cost is $10, which benefits Disabled American Veterans Chapter 9 of Winchester. Kids fish free with an accompanying adult.

The Visitor Center will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for people to check out self-guided adventures. Information: 540-592-3556 or www.dcr.virginia.gov/state-parks.

Outbreak 5K

The Outbreak 5K will be held Saturday at Lord Fairfax Community College in Middletown to benefit the W. Michael Larrick Memorial Scholarship.

The race is zombie-themed — each runner will attempt to navigate obstacles around the three-mile course while being chased by brain-eating zombies. The race is not timed. The zombies will be organized in a fashion that will allow runners the chance to walk and catch their breath. Individuals who don’t regularly run have the ability to still compete and have fun.

Tractor/engine show

The annual Massanutten Antique Tractor and Gasoline Engine Show will be held Saturday and Sunday on the Conicville Fire Department grounds.

SVR track series

Shenandoah Valley Runners will hold its weekly track series at 6 p.m. Mondays through mid-August at Handley High School. Workouts are timed and may include continuous threshold runs, interval workouts or spring workouts. Each week will differ. Information: Coach Bowles at chuckingit@gmail.com

Walking tour

The State Arboretum at Blandy Farm will offer a free walking tour of the grounds from 1 to 2:30 p.m. June 14 in Boyce. The program is free but reservations are required by calling 540-837-1758 or www.blandy.virginia.edu.

Rotary Golf Tournament

The annual Rotary Club of Woodstock Golf Tournament will be held June 15 at Bryce Resort in Basye.
