The Rotary Club of Front Royal will hold its annual Northern Shenandoah Valley Walk to Cure Diabetes from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday starting at the First Baptist Church, 14 W. 1st St. and North Royal Avenue, Front Royal.
The opening ceremony and walk begins at 9:45 a.m. A lunch party will follow from 10:45 to 11:30 a.m.

The Blue Ridge Mountain Mudurance 5K mud and obstacle race will be held starting at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Ralph H. Dean Recreation Park, 625 Sixth St., Luray.
The course includes a 6-foot climbing wall, water slide, mud trenches, sandbag and cinderblock carries, tractor tires, balance beans, hay bale climb, tunnels, tire drag, tire mountain and muddy army crawls.

The Arborfest 5K Walk for Blandy will be held starting at 7:30 a.m. Oct. 8 at the Peetwood Pavilion at the State Arboretum at Blandy Farm, 400 Blandy Farm Lane, Boyce.

Leaf Peeper Run
The second annual Shenandoah Leaf Peeper 10K and half marathon running event will be held starting at 7:30 a.m. Oct. 9 at Skyline High School, 151 Skyline Vista Drive, Front Royal.
Runners will tackle the hills in and around Front Royal during the annual Festival of Leaves. Proceeds support the Warren Heritage Society.
