Friday is the deadline to register for the Warren County Parks and Recreation doubles disc golf tournament that begins 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Rockland Park in Front Royal.

The Young Life Warren County fourth annual 5K Run/Walk will be held starting at 9 a.m. Nov. 5 at Skyline High School in Front Royal. This year’s theme is “Faster Than a Speeding Bullet.”

The Winchester chapter of the Epilepsy Foundation of Virginia will hold a 5K run/walk starting at 11 a.m. Nov. 6 at the Clarke County Parks and Recreation Nature Trail. Late registration will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
Dr. Paul Lyons and Dr. Lee Selznick will be the guest speakers for the Race for Seizure Freedom.

The Cops & Robbers Dash, to benefit the Front Royal Police Foundation, will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Nov. 5 at Eastham Park on Luray Avenue by the boat landing in Front Royal.

Shenandoah Valley Runners will hold a Battlefield half marathon from 8 to 10 a.m. Nov. 5 at Kernstown Battlefield, 3050 Saratoga Drive, Winchester. For those not up to the 13.1 miles, relay teams can be formed.
Racers are encouraged to pick up their race packets during the Health and Wellness Expo from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 4 at the Youth Development Center. No registrations will be accepted on race day. The Abrams Creek Wetlands Preserve, a 25-acre wetland and natural area, will hold a nature walk starting at 8:30 a.m. Nov. 5 at 1643 Meadow Branch Ave., Winchester. The focus will be on birds, flowers, trees and signs of fall.

The Loudoun 10K Trail Run will be held starting at 9 a.m. Nov. 6 at Camp Highroad, 21164 Steptoe Hill Road, Middleburg.
Runner check-in begins at 7:30 a.m. This year’s run benefits Boulder Crest Retreat, in Bluemont, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the physical, emotional, spiritual and economic wellbeing of our nation’s combat veterans and their families.

Girls on the Run
The Shenandoah Valley Girls on the Run will hold a 5K starting at 9 a.m. Nov. 12 at Jim Barnett Park in Winchester.
Registration and packet pickup will begin at 7:30 a.m. at the Fireman’s shelter. Discounted entry fees available through Nov. 5.
