The Harpers Ferry Adventure Center will hold a fall colors sunset zipline and bonfire from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Friday and Oct. 14 at 37410 Adventure Center Lane, Purcellville.

The Hot Rod Cruisers of Front Royal will hold a Car, Truck, Bike and Seafood Show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Shenandoah County Fairgrounds in Woodstock.

Introduction to Birding
The Shenandoah River State Park at will offer a free introduction to birding, led by master naturalist Charles Price, from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at 350 Daughter of the Stars Drive, Bentonville.
The program will include a talk about the classification of birds, various ecosystems in the park and what types of birds will be found followed by a wagon ride to the River Trail to observe and identify the birds discussed.
Space for the wagon ride is limited to 10 participants, with advance registration required. Participants are encouraged to bring binoculars. A park entrance fee is charged.

The Shenandoah River State Park will offer an eco-kayak tour for ages 10 and older from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Saturday at 350 Daughter of the Stars Drive, Bentonville.
The trip is about two miles. Participants should wear shoes that can get wet and bring water.

Warren County Parks and Recreation will offer the following classes:
Youth open gym: 2-4 p.m., Sundays through Dec. 15 at Warren County Health and Human Services Complex, 465 W. 15th St., Front Royal, for ages 15 and younger. Cost: $3.
Pick-up Pickleball: 10 a.m.-noon, Wednesdays at Health & Human Services Complex, for ages 55 and older. Drop in program. $2 per person.
Senior Gaming 55+: 10 a.m.-noon, Mondays at Warren County Community Center, 538 Villa Ave., Front Royal. Free. Drop-in program. No registration required.
Tiny Tykes Play Day: 10 a.m.-noon Tuesdays and Fridays and 6-8 p.m., Thursdays at Health and Human Services Complex. Cost: $2 per participant every date of attendance. Punch cards are $20, available at the community center.
Home school day camp
The Northern Virginia 4-H Educational Center in Front Royal will hold a three-day home school day camp Oct. 11-13.
The camp features Leave No Trace instructors, a guest instructor from the Smithsonian Biology Institute and historical interpreters. The cost is $100 per family, up to three participants over age 5. Each additional camper is $14. Each family is asked to supply an adult for at least one day.

Oct. 11 is the deadline to register for Shenandoah County Parks & Recreation’s beginner’s Okinawan martial arts class from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. starting Oct. 18 for six weeks at Anytime Fitness in Woodstock. Blue Ridge Hospice will hold sponsor the Butterfly 5K/10K starting at 9 a.m. Oct. 15 at the state Arboretum at Blandy Farm in Boyce.

The Woodstock Autumnfest 5K, part of the Autumnfest Festival, will be held at 10 a.m. Oct. 15 at Fairview Park, 716 W. North St., Woodstock (Mary E. Wetzel farmstead).

Super Hero Scram
The Kiwanis Club of Strasburg will sponsor the Super Hero Scram 5K Run/Walk on Oct. 29.
Registration opens at 8 a.m. The race starts at 9 a.m. The race begins at the Strasburg Mennonite Church and winds around the town.
Registration is $20 in advance or $25 at the race. Participants are urged to come dressed as their favorite super hero with a best costume award.
