The following are some of the area recreational events that are being held:
The annual Run/Walk for Autism sponsored by the Shenandoah Valley Autism Partnership will be held starting at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Eastern Mennonite University’s University Commons in Harrisonburg.
Race check-in and registration is from 7:15 to 8:30 a.m. Registration fee is $25. Information: www.valleyautism.org.
The Lord Fairfax Community College’s Wellness Committee will host the Wits for Wellness 5K on April 22 at the Middletown campus. Registration: $15-$20. Information: www.active.com/middletown-va.
5K, Kids Run
Shenandoah Valley Runners will sponsor a Superhero 5K and Kids Run at 9 a.m. April 22 at Greenwood Mill Elementary School, 281 Channing Drive, Winchester.
Kids’ races will follow the adult race. The Kid’s Mile is open to ages 5-12. The 100 Yard Dash is open to ages 5 and younger.

Second Home’s third annual Super Hero 5K will be held April 22 at the Rockingham County Fairgrounds in Harrisonburg.
Check-in is 8:30 a.m. followed by the run at 9 a.m.

Charity bike ride
Bike Shenandoah will hold its Spring Metric Century 62-mile ride beginning at 8 a.m. April 22 at Park View Mennonite Church, Harrisonburg.
Registration, which begins at 7:15 a.m., is $50 in advance or $55 race day. Information: 540-578-3024.
The James Madison University Duke Club will hold a golf classic on April 28 at Spotswood Country Club in Harrisonburg.
Featured will be a morning flight at 8 a.m. and afternoon flight at 1:30 p.m. with a shotgun start.
Registration is $150 per person, which includes a round of golf, beverages, hospitality and gift. The Value Pack option is $35 per person and includes two mulligans, powerball, putting contest and challenge contest.
