SportsThursday, June 19, 2008 All-Area Girls Soccer TeamPlayer of the Year: Danielle Moyer, Clarke County Coach of the Year: Luke Mason, Handley First team *Danielle Moyer, Clarke County The area's top goal scorer (again) and co-leader in assists with 36 and 16, respectively, Moyer captured the Northern Virginia Daily's top honor for the fourth consecutive year. *Rhonda Runion, Millbrook Earned first-team honors in the district and second-team honors in the region after scoring 13 goals and dishing out 12 assists. *Nicole Dirnagl, Sherando Dirnagl scored 16 goals and found herself on the Northwestern District's first team and Region II's second team. *Daryl deLadurantaye, Sherando First-team all-district, deLadurantaye scored nine times in the Warriors' high-scoring offense, while notching a team-high 13 assists. *Lillie Rupert, Handley An all-Northwestern first-team and all-Region II second-team pick, Rupert's 16 goals was tops on the district-champion Judges. She also had seven assists. *Kirsti Campbell, Handley Campbell was first-team all-district and second-team all-region while ranking as one of the Judges' top scoring threats (six goals) and top distributors (six assists). *Katheryne Lawson, Clarke County Lawson, who will take her soccer game to Colgate in the fall, earned first-team all-region and all-district spots. *Tori Russell, Clarke County A second-team all-district performer, Russell co-led the area (with teammate Moyer) with 16 assists, while also chipping in with six goals. *Paula Delmerico, Handley Delmerico finished the season in the top 10 in both goals and assists, while earning first-team recognition in the Northwestern District. *Hannah Oakes, Warren County Oakes was one of the Wildcats' go-to scorers, tallying nine goals while earning first-team all-Northwestern District honors. *GK: Miranda Morris, Central She was the only sophomore named to the Northewestern District first team, and the only Falcons player honored by the league.
