FERRUM -- Host Ferrum College snapped Shenandoah University's two-game football winning streak with a 56-20 USA South Conference win Saturday afternoon at Adams Field.
Ferrum (3-4, 3-1 USA South) rolled up 523 yards in total offense and scored a pair of special teams touchdowns to key the victory over Shenandoah (2-5, 2-2).
WINCHESTER -- Larry Gibbs knew. So did Paul Barnes.
With the number of plays Shenandoah linebacker Joshua Rogers made in preseason camp, Shenandoah's free safety and head coach knew Rogers would likely improve upon an already solid linebacker corps.
WINCHESTER -- Shenandoah quarterback Daniel Wright watched Methodist placekicker Tyler Mosko line up for a 29-yard field goal with 24 seconds left in Saturday night's homecoming game on Sprint Field at Shentel Stadium.
Wright had to watch to see how the game would play out. The crowd's reaction, he said, is too difficult to interpret -- and he needed to be sure the Hornets weren't heading to overtime.
MARYVILLE, Tenn. -- Shenandoah University earned its first football win in over a season Saturday afternoon with a 7-6 USA South Conference win at Maryville College.
The loss snaps a 13-game losing streak for the Hornets (1-4, 1-1 USA South) and is the squad's first-ever victory over Maryville (1-4, 0-2).

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- Shenandoah University will have two chances to make a return trip to the NCAA Division III Baseball National Championships after downing Mary Washington 10-5 on Friday in the winner's bracket final of the South Regional.
