FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Shenandoah University senior Alexis Hargbol has been named as the USA South Conference women’s basketball Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.

Hargbol, who has earned the honor at least one time each year of her career, averaged 13.0 points and 11.5 rebounds in two contests last week.

Hargbol had 10 points and 14 rebounds in the Hornets’ 56-54 victory over No. 23 Mary Washington, and then backed it up with 16 points in Sunday’s 73-67 loss at St. Mary’s.

Hargbol is now just 40 points from 1,000 for her career, and is on pace to break the mark this weekend at home in conference games against Methodist or Greensboro.

Shenandoah is back in action on Wednesday at Christopher Newport in its conference opener.
