The following are some of the area recreational events that are being held:
NAMI, a support group for family, friends and caregivers of adults with various types of mental illness, will hold a 3K Walk for Mental Illness Sunday at the Frederick County Fairgrounds in Clear Brook.
Registration starts at 9:30 a.m. and the walk starts at 10:30 a.m. Registration is $5. Vendor tables are available for $15.

The Page Youth Football League will hold a Color Run from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Page County High School, 184 Panther Drive, Shenandoah. Information: www.facebook.com/events/1961615850787236.
Response will host a candlelight walk to recognize October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month at 7 p.m. Monday beginning at the Woodstock Town Gazebo. Candles will be distributed to carry while walking through town.
Full moon walk
The State Arboretum at Blandy Farm in Boyce will hold a full moon walk from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 6. Those attending should wear comfortable shoes and bring a flashlight.

The Apple Butter Day 10K run/walk will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 7 through and around Mackintosh Fruit Farm, 1608 Russell Road, Berryville.
