The following are some of the area recreational events that are being held:
Crums United Methodist Church in Berryville will host a Fall-Fest Truck Cruise-In from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
Featured will be barbecue, raffles, give-aways and music.

A car, truck and tractor show will be held at the open house and tour of the Millersville Store, chapel and log cabin from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday at 2478 Minebank Road, Strasburg. There will also be music, train rides and food. Admission is free.
The Helltown Cruisers will hold a cruise-in from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Gazebo in Front Royal. Information: 540-450-7939.
The Town of Luray offers night catfishing until midnight Oct. 13 at Lake Arrowhead in Luray. Fishing permits are required and are available for ages 16 and older. Information: 540-743-6475.
The Third Battle Open XC Invitational will be held Oct. 14 at Millbrook High School, 251 First Woods Drive, Winchester.

Walk for Blandy
The state Arboretum at Blandy Farm in Boyce will hold its annual 5K Walk for Blandy from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Oct. 14 beginning at the Peetwood Pavilion.

The Halloween Trunk and Treat Cooters Car Show will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 14 at Cooter’s Place, 4768 U.S. Highway 211 West, Luray.
Awards will be given for best in show. There will also be a kids costume contest and award for the best Cooter costume, a 50/50 raffle and music.

Leaf Peeper races
As part of Festival of Leaves, the third annual Helltown Half Shenandoah Leaf Peeper 10K will be held starting at 6:30 a.m. Oct. 15 at the Skyline High School parking lot in front of the football stadium in Front Royal.
There will be two 13.1-mile loops, a single loop 10-K course and a 5-K course.
