The following are some of the area recreational events that are being held:
The annual Race to Beat Breast Cancer 5K fun run/walk will be held Oct. 21 at 305 S. Dogwood Drive, Harrisonburg.
Proceeds will benefit Rockingham Memorial Hospital Foundation for breast cancer care and treatment at Sentara RMH Medical Center.

Shenandoah Valley Runners will sponsor Care2Cure HD 5K starting at 9 a.m. Oct. 21 at Millbrook High School in Winchester.
Race day registration will be held from 7:30 to 8:45 a.m. Information: www.care2curehd5k.com.
Sky Meadows State Park in Delaplane will hold a Trick or Treat 5K and Family Fun Run from 2 to 4 p.m. Oct. 22 at the Turner Pond parking area as part of its Rest and Rejuvenation Fall Farm Days.
Runners, walkers and families are encouraged to wear costumes. Achieve a sticker at all five stations to receive a free pumpkin from the park’s pick-your-own patch.
