Recreation Events

The following are some of the area recreational events that are being held:

Color Run

The annual Skyline Warren Color Run 5K will be held at 9 a.m. April 28 at Skyline High School in Front Royal.

The race will be a “fun” run with colorful powder being thrown on the runners. Runners are encouraged to wear white.

Registration is $15 to $20. Proceeds support students traveling abroad in 2019. Registration, information: www.tinyurl.com/y9pjkcug.

 

Spring Fever 5k

Sky Meadows State Park in Delaplane will host the Spring Fever 5k from 9 to 11 a.m. April 29.

The race, made possible by Roots and Rocks Adventures, starts and ends at Turner Pond. Following the race, there will be music, a recovery tent provided by Pivot Physical Therapy, awards and prizes.  Golf tourney

Friends of Valley charities will hold its fundraising golf tournament May 1 in Millwood.

No handicap required. Benefits the FVC scholarship for a James Madison University student with or directly affected by cancer and Rockingham Memorial Hospital’s Linear Accelerator. Information, registration: 540-246-8174 or www.fvconline.org/golf-18.

 

Kids Bloomin’ Mile

Shenandoah Valley Runners will host the Kids Bloomin’ Mile at 4 p.m. May 4 at John Handley High School for ages 6 to 14. Registration: www.svrunners.org.

 

Apple Blossom 10k

Shenandoah Valley Runners will host the Apple Blossom 10k from 8:30 to 10 a.m. May 5 at John Handley High School. Registration: www.svrunners.org.
