The following are some of the area recreational events that are being held:
The Strasburg Splash Dash will be held at 8 a.m. Saturday at the Town Park.
Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. An awards ceremony will begin at 9:15 a.m.
Registration is $10 for youth and $12 for adults in advance and $15 on race day. Proceeds benefit Cub Scout Pack 28 and Lydia’s Clothes Closet Inc. Register online at www.splashdashva.org.
A free antique and modified car show coordinated by the Shenandoah Region Antique Automobile Club of America will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley, 901 Amherst St., Winchester.

The Town of Luray will offer night catfishing until midnight July 28 at Lake Arrowhead in Luray. Fishing permits are required for ages 16 and older. Information: Parks and Recreation Department, 540-743-6475.
The annual Pageant of Steam will be held July 28-30 at the Ruritan-Clarke County showgrounds in Berryville. Featured will be steam engines, sawmill, wheat threshing, antique trucks, flea markets, blacksmith, antique tractor pull, parade, food and music. Free admission. The Jack Evans annual car show will be held from noon to 4 p.m. July 29 at 125 S. Royal Ave., Front Royal. Featured will be antique, classic and performance vehicles old and new. Live music, concessions.
