All-area girls tennis teams

First team
Elizabeth Gardiner, Handley
The senior went 16-1 this season, playing mostly at No. 2 singles. She finished her career with a 69-7 mark and helped lead the Judges to three consecutive Group AA state championships.

Katie Gordon, Handley
The junior helped guide the Judges to another Group AA state championship with a 15-0 record. Gordon teamed with Elizabeth Gardiner to advance to the Region II individual doubles finals.

Sarah Moomau, Handley
Moomau went 18-1 at No. 1 singles and now has a career record of 56-1. The junior won the Northwestern District individual singles title and advanced to the Region II individual singles final.

Kari Pope, James Wood
The senior, who will play at Army next year, was the Northwestern District individual singles runner-up. Pope helped guide the Colonels to a second-place finish in the regular season.

Headley Wilson, James Wood
Wilson teamed with Kari Pope to win their second straight Group AA individual doubles title.

Sarah Wolfe, Sherando
The freshman led the Warriors to a fourth-place Northwestern District finish. Wolfe lost only four matches all season playing at No. 1 and qualified for the Northwestern District individual singles semifinals.
