STEPHENS CITY -- Sherando's boys soccer team had a hard time mounting any kind of pressure in the first half against visiting Broad Run on Thursday evening, so Warriors head coach Patrick Anderson made a bold choice at halftime.
STEPHENS CITY -- Sherando junior Nikolas Mikus will gladly fight through tough tennis matches like the one the Warriors had on Thursday evening against traditional Northwestern District powerhouse Handley, as long as doing so makes him better on the court.
STRASBURG -- Megan Emswiler threw a four-hitter as Strasburg pounded Manassas Park, 12-2, in Bull Run District softball action on Thursday night. The game was called after five innings due to the mercy rule.
STEPHENS CITY -- With an injury to Reid Entsminger, Sherando will have to rely more on the rest of its pitching staff this season. Junior Adam Whitacre showed on Wednesday night that he's more than ready to step up for the Warriors.
STEPHENS CITY -- Sherando's girls tennis team has plenty of work to do to overcome its youth and inexperience this season. The good news is, with the weather finally starting to look more like spring, the Warriors should have plenty of opportunities this week to gain some valuable court time.
