FRONT ROYAL -- It was Senior Night and Skyline was playing solid football.
The Hawks had just held the Judges to a field goal and had the ball back with a little more than five minutes left in the first half of Friday night's Northwestern District game.
On the second play of its next series, Skyline lost a fumble when Jonta Baltimore couldn't handle a pitch out. Handley scored off the turnover to take its first lead.

BERRYVILLE -- After falling behind 2-0 in the first two sets, Clarke County came storming back to stun Skyline 3-2 (20-25, 16-25, 25-16, 25-13, 15-9) in Thursday's non-district volleyball match.
WINCHESTER -- James Wood opened up district volleyball play Wednesday with a bang and finished strong to secure the victory as the Colonels disposed of Skyline, 3-0 (25-12, 25-9, 25-22).
FRONT ROYAL -- After struggling early, Skyline put together two solid sets to defeat visiting Brentsville 3-1 (25-21, 16-25, 25-15, 25-15) Thursday in girls volleyball.
STRASBURG -- The high school football season kicked off Friday night with a bang for the Skyline Hawks when they traveled to face the Rams of Strasburg. An early defensive battle quickly got out of hand as the Hawks won their opener 28-0.
FRONT ROYAL -- Earlier this summer, Skyline wrestling coach Matt Keel sat down at his computer, looking to do some research on The Super 32 Challenge, an upcoming annual tournament showcasing the top wrestlers in the nation.
FRONT ROYAL -- Skyline and Fauquier entered Tuesday night's nondistrict match with emotions running high, and battled evenly through two sets before the Falcons were able to take control and claim a 3-1 (25-21, 19-25, 25-16, 25-21) victory.

STEPHENS CITY -- James Wood's girls soccer team got its third straight victory on Thursday, defeating Skyline 2-1 in the Northwestern District Tournament play-in game.
STEPHENS CITY -- Brittini Dennis tallied a pair of goals and added an assist to lead host Sherando to an 8-0 girls soccer victory over Northwestern District rival Skyline on Monday.
