STEPHENS CITY -- If Thursday's Northwestern District tournament play-in game between James Wood and Skyline is any indication of how the rest of the tournament will play out, basketball fans throughout the area are in for quite a treat.

CHARLOTTESVILLE -- The Virginia High School League released the newest realignment plan for the 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 years. The plan would have six classifications. The plan would allow teams to play in districts that are better suited for them geographically regardless of what classification they are in.

STEPHENS CITY-- Sherando hosted Skyline on Friday night in a pivotal Northwestern District boys basketball matchup. Both teams battled blow-for-blow, trading baskets throughout the evening. At the end of the night, however, it was the Warriors who outlasted the Hawks, 61-57.
