Wilson and Pope had already done their part for the Colonels. Now came the tough part: watching their teammates. James Wood's No. 2 doubles team of Kylie Vess and Brooke Buckley ensured the Colonels had no worries. The Gladiators (6-10, 4-4) led 4-1 as Stonewall batted in the sixth. Starting pitcher Cody Montgomery had allowed only one hit to that point, but Giovanni Guzman led off with a triple to deep left. One out later, Andrew Marshall bunted up the first-base line for a single, plating Guzman.
