FRONT ROYAL -- Page County's Kori Jenkins smashed a triple to right-center field that scored Kristy McDaniel for the go-ahead run to end a marathon 10-inning pitchers' duel and deliver a 4-2 win against Warren County on Monday.
FRONT ROYAL -- The question wasn't which pitcher would find success on the mound. All season long, both Skyline's Sara Beamer and Warren County's Nicole King have been nothing short of dominant, with King's record standing at 4-1 and Beamer's a perfect 3-0.
FRONT ROYAL -- The cross-county rivalry heated up quickly when Warren County hosted Skyline in girls soccer on Wednesday night. Both teams battled fiercely in a physical matchup that came down to the final minutes of regulation.

FRONT ROYAL -- The Clarke County Eagles needed only one hit to win their second game in two days, ending the Warren County Wildcats' season-opening streak of three shutouts, with a 2-1 victory in a non-district softball game on Wednesday night.
FRONT ROYAL -- Clarke County came into Wildcat Stadium and soared away with a victory over host Warren County on Wednesday night. The Eagles jumped ahead early and used a stingy defense to keep the Wildcats scoreless until stoppage time during the second half in a 4-1 win.
BERRYVILLE -- Despite registering a dominating 3-0 shutout of Warren County on Wednesday, Clarke County's girls soccer team is far from satisfied. The Eagles took 29 shots against the Wildcats' defense and were frustrated at their lack of success scoring.
FRONT ROYAL -- It doesn't matter what she throws. Nicole King can't fool Taylor Bass. Whether it's a quick fastball, a teasing curveball or an always tricky screwball, Bass can read where the pitch is going to land.
NOKESVILLE -- Marty Haley didn't want to leave the court.
The final buzzer had sounded, but the Warren County senior refused to leave. His team's season was finished, thanks to a 56-47 defeat at the hands of Kettle Run.
STRASBURG -- As her team headed to the locker room following Wednesday's game, Brianna Caison wasn't focused on the final score. Her team had lost, but the Warren County freshman couldn't help but feel good, believing in terms of improvement, her team was the real winner.
STRASBURG -- The Strasburg gymnasium was thick with all of it: Desperation. Desire. Passion. Yearning. All of it. And the exhaustion from it all dyed red the faces of Warren County and Strasburg players alike.
STRASBURG -- As his team ran onto the court for warm-ups, Damien Caison could sense something wasn't right. Despite the tip-off being just a few minutes away, Caison noticed his teammates weren't completely focused.
