STRASBURG--- Only a game-winning goal-line stand could one-up senior Noah St. Clair's heroics Friday night as Strasburg edged Warren County 36-28 in a game with Bull Run Conference and post-season playoff ramifications.
FRONT ROYAL -- Autumn Troxell finished off the regular season portion of one of the great volleyball careers in Warren County history Thursday by leading the Wildcats to a 3-0 sweep of crosstown rival Skyline before a full gym on her own court on Senior Night.
FRONT ROYAL -- On their way to what they thought was a three-set whitewash of Bull Run District opponent Manassas Park on Thursday, Warren County watched as the visiting Cougars had something to say about that.
FRONT ROYAL -- Just a little over two weeks after Warren County defeated cross-town rival Skyline 1-0 in an extra-inning pitchers' duel, the Wildcats and the Hawks met for round two of softball action at Skyline on Thursday.
FRONT ROYAL -- Most of the game was dead even, but Warren County took over in overtime on Saturday.
The Wildcats used clutch foul shooting to pull away with a 70-62 non-district boys basketball overtime win over Central.

Time and time again, 3-point attempts, mid-range jumpers, even open lay-ups were hoisted up, only to be rejected by an unforgiving rim. To say his team had just finished a cold shooting night would be putting it politely. At times it was baffling to see another Wildcats shot spin out of the hoop, yet after four quarters, Warren County had managed just six field goals on 39 shots, including a scoreless third quarter. Meanwhile, their opponent, Clarke County, had little trouble finding the basket, and rolled to a 61-33 win over the Wildcats on Monday night.
FRONT ROYAL -- Both host Warren County and Central looked to start off their girls basketball season in the win column on Wednesday night, but only one could prevail.
In the end, the more experienced Falcons were able to pull together and notch a victory as they held off the Wildcats, 61-33.
