FRONT ROYAL – Central boys basketball coach Brandon Shields left the gymnasium at Warren County High School on Tuesday night feeling pretty good about his team’s execution over the final few minutes of the Falcons’ Bull Run District matchup with the Wildcats.

FRONT ROYAL – First-year coach Bryan Scott has emphasized the importance of defense since taking over the helm of Central’s girls basketball team. On Tuesday night against Warren County, the Falcons’ defense once again propelled them to victory.

Conference wrestling tournaments cap local sports week

FRONT ROYAL – Warren County High School’s wrestling team checked the first item off their to-do list Saturday afternoon with a Bull Run District tournament championship. But the Wildcats have their sights set on bigger things, and that quest begins this weekend.

Warren County High School’s wrestling team won all but one of its regular season duals this winter, but Wildcats head coach Matt Wadas would like to see that success in head-to-head matchups translate into success in a postseason, bracket-style tournament.

Local schools using Strasburg situation as learning tool

When news that Strasburg’s boys basketball program had been suspended indefinitely came out last week many athletic directors and coaches throughout the area talked to students about rules of misconduct, including hazing.
