Community note: Scholarship winners

FRONT ROYAL — Royal Cinemas employees Haleigh Brady, Savannah Dove, and Abbey O’Mara were awarded college scholarships from the Mid-Atlantic National Association of Theatre Owners (Mid-Atlantic NATO) on May 12.

Mid-Atlantic NATO is a non-profit trade association comprised of motion picture exhibitors and theatre owners and operators with facilities located in Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia. Mid-Atlantic NATO membership includes large chains, regional circuits, and independent theatre owners. Since 1985, over $535,000 in scholarships have been awarded to over 370 theatre employees of Mid-Atlantic NATO member theatres. This year 22 scholarships totaling $36,000 were awarded.

Haleigh Brady will be using her $1,000 scholarship to complete an Associate of Liberal Arts Degree from Lord Fairfax Community College in Middletown.

Savannah Dove will be using her $1,000 scholarship to complete a Bachelor of Science Degree from the Waldron College of Health and Human Services at Radford University in Radford.

Abbey O’Mara will be using her $1,000 scholarship to complete a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from James Madison University in Harrisonburg.
