Playing with science

Lindsey Ridgy, 11, of Woodstock, holds up a strip of gloop she made during the Playing With Science workshop at the Shenandoah County Extension Service and offered by the 4-H club. Participants used everyday household items to create science projects. This one used glue, food coloring, borax, and water. The Extension Office is offering other camps, including Exploring the World of Insects, Basket Weaving, Cupcake Creations, and Woodworking Crafts. Students do not have to be current 4-H members to participate. Pre-registration is required by calling 459-6140. Rich Cooley/Daily
