Authorities make pot bust in Stephens City
Authorities arrested a Berryville man Tuesday in Stephens City after he received more than a dozen pounds of marijuana through the U.S. mail.
Members of the criminal investigations division of the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office and U.S. postal inspectors seized 15 pounds of high-grade marijuana, with a street value of more than $30,000, sent to a home in the 100 block of Hackberry Drive, according to information from the Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities charged 34-year-old Bryan Reid with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute more than 5 pounds.
Postal inspectors identified two suspicious packages during delivery and, after further investigation, found both parcels contained marijuana and traced their delivery point. Once delivered, authorities executed a search warrant at the residence and seized the packages.
