Shentel employees aid communities

Shentel employees are aiding local communities through public service in the company’s new Shentel Community Connections Program.

According to a news release, employees picked up litter in Edinburg and Etters, Pennsylvania. Between the two towns, they collected 43 bags of litter. Another litter pickup is planned for Weston, West Virginia.

Employees are also collecting items and food for their summer backpack program. The collected items and food were donated to area food banks.

Shentel Vice President Tom Whitaker said, “We are delighted to see how our new Community Connections Program has come to fruition, giving us the chance to dedicate more of our resources to the regions in which we work and live. We realize the importance of being good citizens and are thankful for these opportunities to connect with our communities in a personal, more impactful way.”
