Women of the Moose Chapter 1194 will hold an ice cream social from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Front Royal Moose Lodge, 1340 John Marshall Highway. Cotton candy will also be available.

St. John’s Lutheran Church will hold a Mocha and a Message contemporary worship service with coffee at 6 p.m. Saturday at 3623 Back Mountain Road, Winchester.

Bingo and refreshments will follow. A free-will offering will be accepted to benefit community outreach programs.


Oak Level United Methodist Church will hold an ice cream social at 4 p.m. Saturday at 1809 Camp Roosevelt Road, Fort Valley.

Homemade ice cream, sloppy Joes, country ham sandwiches, hot dogs and drinks will be served. Special music by SBG. Proceeds benefit church restorations.


The Shenandoah Valley Quilters Guild will hold a meeting and annual picnic from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Shelter #1 at Oakdale Park in Bridgewater. The theme is “That’s Entertainment!”

Hot dogs, popcorn, drinks and paper products will be provided. Those attending are asked to bring a side dish or dessert to share and come dressed as their favorite movie or TV star. Information: www.svqg.org.


Samuels Public Library in Front Royal has scheduled a meeting of the Swords & Rockets Book Discussion Group at 2 p.m. Saturday. “Live Free or Die” by John Ringo will be discussed.

The Helsley and Barton families will hold a reunion at 1 p.m. Sunday at Helsley’s Park on Back Road between Columbia Furnace and St. Luke. Those attending are asked to bring a covered dish and small gift.


The Bowman and Epard family reunion will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Ruritan shelter at W.O. Reilly Park in Woodstock. Those attending are asked to bring food to share. Information: 459-3550.


The descendants of John William and Hattie Melton Smith and John Robert and Myrtle Smith White will hold a family reunion from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday at the R.R. Donnelly shelter at Signal Knob Park & Playground in Strasburg.

Those attending are asked to bring covered dishes and drinks. Plates, napkins and utensils will be furnished. There will be games and door prizes.
