4:00 -- Is everybody ready for another night of exciting games? We have seven games tonight. Five of them will be in the paper and the other two will be online. All together we will have nine local stories online tomorrow. So, be sure to check them out. If you can't make it out to the games tonight check back with us throughout the evening and I will try to give as many updates as I can.
7:41 -- Our first update of the evening. Sherando is up 6-0 at the end of the first quarter. No reports yet from the other games, but I'll pass them a long as soon as I get them.
7:51 -- Scores are coming in fast and furious. Loudoun County leads Warren County, 14-7, at the half. Marty Haley had a 72-yard touchdown and has 112 yards on 8 carries so far. It looks like the Wildcats might hang around with the Raiders. Who knows could be an upset brewing. Brent Dorrin hit a FG late in the first quarter and Central leads 3-0.
7:57 -- More scores from around the area. James Wood is up 21-7 over Musselman and Sherando is up 27-0 over Washington. Both of those scores are in the second quarter. It looks like both James Wood and Sherando are going to have strong seasons once again. Could it be another classic game when they play each other?
8:08 -- It looks like the Shiley brothers are at it again. Clarke leads 20-0 after the first quarter. Is anyone going to give Clarke a game in the regular season?
8:13 -- Seth Bauserman just scored from 4 yards out to give Central a 9-0 lead (PAT was no good) with 5:40 left in the first half.
8:16 -- More scores. At the half James Wood is up 28-7, Sherando 27-0 and Millbrook trails Spotswood 14-3. It looks like my pick of Millbrook could drop me even further back. It might be a long year in the picks column!
8:27 -- Wow! Clarke County's offense continues to rack up the points. The Eagles lead the Generals, 33-7, at the half. I think they will reach their average of 45 points a game.
8:47 -- It looks like Bill Hall must have given his team a tongue-lashing this week. Sherando is up 41-0 in the third quarter.
9:12 -- We have our first final. Warren County lost to Loudoun County, 42-7. It looks like Todd Hill has his team rolling on all cylinders. Damien Caison and Gage Steele did not play for Warren County.
9:26 -- At last report Millbrook trails Spotswood, 17-10, with 8 minutes left. Spotswood had the ball. Aslo, Central still leads Strasburg 9-0 at the end of the third quarter.
9:28 -- Derek Copenhaver just scored from 2 yards out to give Central a 15-0 lead with 9:43 left in the game.
9:30 -- For all the Yankee fans out there, Derek Jeter just picked up hit No. 2,722 to pass Lou Gehrig as the Yankees career-hits leader. Congrats Derek! Now let's go get another World Series title.
9:41 -- Another couple finals. Spotswood held off Millbrook, 19-17, and James Wood won 35-14. Also, Central still leads Strasburg, 15-0, less than six minutes left.
10:22 -- Three more finals are in: Sherando, 41-0, Central 22-0 and Clarke County 46-7. Chuck you're not allowed to comment unless you come back and work the desk on Friday nights. We miss you here.
